About the app and hiking site

Most of the hikes in this app are loops.

The park only offers a couple of marked hiking trails. Most of the hikes don’t follow a trail; instead, they follow washes, the terrain, or go cross-country.

Hiking this way is perfectly legal in most parts of the park. If you’re unsure, check with the visitor center in Borrego Springs.

Some hikes are for experienced hikers only and may contain boulders, slippery canyons, and other dangerous terrain.

Happy hiking!

Borrego Springs Ca.

It’s free, available for Android, and has many offline maps.

We use many of its great features, such as great maps, track recording, and the ability to find your phone if it slips out of your pocket in an area without cell reception.

There are hundreds of routes that we’ve taken over the years. Some are easy and some are completely cross-country.

You can download the app from the Google Play Store by searching for “Borrego Desert.”
